This hardhat is the product of a 6 month thesis, which focused on modernizing the hardhat. During my internships, I acquired many new skills that I wanted to showcase in my Senior Directed Studies Project. After discussions with my professors and friends, I decided to focus on Personal Protective Equipment, specifically the hardhat.
I had to focus not only on style, but ergonomics and safety. My goal was to redesign the hardhat, while keeping within current job-site/OSHA regulations and requirements. Not only did I succeed in developing a more aesthetically appealing hardhat, but it is also more functional for its wearers while still delivering the necessary protection.
