This was a group project where we collaborated with the physics department to create a board game. The original idea for the games mechanics are responsible for two teachers in the physics department. They developed a crude and basic example of the game.
We were responsible for further developing the mechanics and visuals of the game. During development we started by looking at board games already in the industry and play testing what works so that we could iterate new gameplay modes besides what the physics students wanted. We also researched the actual science behind the game to get a better understanding of the environment and expectations of the players.
After play testing model after model of the game with the physics students we ended up with a game with a final board game. The final product delivered was a visually and mechanically refined board game with an educational component. Professors are able to use this in classroom exercises to test students comprehension of the subject.
